How should I hand wash white cloth items to avoid damage?

Hand wash with mild dish soap and cold water. Use a soft sponge or fingers, rub gently in circles, and rinse thoroughly. Air dry flat—don’t wring or use the dryer. Avoid bleach, hot water, hydrogen peroxide, or baking soda, as they can yellow or spot the fabric. For greasy stains, a drop of laundry detergent works, but rinse well.
