How much RAM do I need for serious sample libraries?

32GB is the minimum for serious sample libraries. 16GB works for small projects but bottlenecks quickly with multiple Kontakt instruments or large orchestral patches. A single multi-mic orchestral patch can use 2-4GB, and stacking those with your DAW and plugins makes 16GB a problem. For scoring or complex arrangements without micromanaging memory, 32GB is worth it.
