How long should I wait before swimming after applying chemical sunscreen?

Wait at least 15 minutes for chemical sunscreens to absorb into the skin and start working. If you jump in right away, you’re rinsing it off before it does anything useful. Physical sunscreens work immediately but still need a few minutes to dry. Reapply immediately after swimming, toweling off, or sweating.
