How long did it take to record the album Phaedra, and why did tuning take so long?

The album was completed in less than six weeks — remarkably fast for a landmark electronic record. But back then, the Moog synthesizer had no presets or memory banks, so tuning it each day took hours. Early electronic music was as much about wrestling with the machines as composing.
