How full should I fill my pool relative to the skimmer opening?

Fill your pool about halfway up the skimmer opening. Too low and the skimmer sucks air; too high and debris floats past the weir door. If the weir door floats freely and surface water moves into the skimmer, you’re good. Check it after heavy rain or evaporation.
