How does Beethoven's First Symphony show his own style despite its influences?

Beethoven’s First Symphony nods to Haydn and Mozart but the sforzandi are all his own — sudden sforzandi, tonal shifts that come out of nowhere, and wind parts that refuse to stay in the background. It’s a classical symphony by someone already itching to break the rules.
