How do I winterize a saltwater pool?

Treat it like a chlorine pool, but watch the salt cell. Balance the water first: pH around 7.2, alkalinity 80-120, calcium over 200. Add a winterizing algaecide and phosphate remover. Lower the water level to six inches below the skimmer, blow out and plug return lines, and add non-toxic antifreeze. Remove the salt cell, clean it if crusty, and store it dry. Turn off the salt generator at the breaker. Don’t drain the pool unless you’re in extreme cold.
