How do I prevent calcium scale in my pool?

Keep your pH between 7.2 and 7.6 and calcium hardness between 200–400 ppm. Test weekly. Most scale happens when pH drifts above 8.0, causing calcium to drop out and stick to surfaces. Total alkalinity around 80–120 helps buffer the pH.
