How do I manage pH in a saltwater pool?

Salt chlorine generators push pH up over time, so you’ll mostly be adding acid. To lower pH, use muriatic acid or sodium bisulfate, adding it slowly near a return jet with the pump running. To raise pH, use aeration (fountains or waterfalls) or soda ash sparingly. Keep pH between 7.4 and 7.6 for best salt cell efficiency and swimmer comfort.
