How do I keep a cooler drain from leaking during travel?

Plug the drain from the inside with a rubber stopper or cork, then seal the outside with duct tape. A cork or rubber stopper creates a tight seal, and the tape is backup insurance. If possible, drain the water entirely before driving instead.
