How do I fix a chainsaw that isn't oiling the bar?

Nine times out of ten, the oil port is just clogged with sawdust and pitch. Clean it with a wire or compressed air. If that doesn’t work, check the tank for air in the line—fill it up, let it sit, then run the saw at idle. Don’t use bar oil thicker than the manual says, especially in cold weather. Only consider a pump rebuild after ruling out the easy fixes.
