How can I tell if my pool is leaking?

If you’re adding an inch or more of water weekly, it’s likely a leak, not just evaporation. Evaporation is rarely more than a quarter inch per day. Other signs include soggy ground around the pool, cracks in plaster or tile, air bubbles from return jets, or algae despite balanced chemicals. The bucket test can confirm a leak, and a dye test can help locate it.
