Fast mousepads vs slow mousepads: Fast wins for low-sensitivity FPS players

Faster surfaces (low friction, high glide) let you whip the mouse around quickly without resistance, which is why most competitive FPS players prefer them. Slower pads feel “sticky” and make micro-adjustments harder mid-flick. But if you play on high DPI or do lots of tracking (e.g., Apex), a medium-speed cloth pad gives better balance.
