Does the Radio Flyer Classic Red Tricycle actually hold up to daily use, or is it just riding on nostalgia?

It earns its reputation ride by ride. The steel frame is stable, the steering works properly, and the bell is satisfyingly loud. In our house, a kid rides it every day — before breakfast, down the sidewalk, and parked in the driveway like she owns the place.
