Does my motherboard support ECC memory?
Probably not, unless it’s a proper workstation or server board. Consumer motherboards often only allow ECC with specific CPUs and may not actually do error correction. Check the motherboard manufacturer’s website for your exact model’s memory specification page. Also verify the CPU support list, as the CPU’s memory controller must support ECC too. The easiest way is to look at the memory QVL for officially tested ECC modules.
