Do textured mouse pads cause problems for low-lift mice?

Yes. Low lift-off distance sensors can get confused by heavily textured surfaces, causing phantom movement or jitter when you reposition the mouse. Serious FPS players typically use smooth cloth pads for a clean break on lift-off. If you lift and reposition often, a smooth pad is the safer choice.
