Yes. Saltwater pools are just chlorine pools with a built-in generator that converts salt into chlorine via electrolysis. You still test, shock, and run the pump, but you skip buying chlorine tablets and instead add pool salt once or twice a season. The salt cell needs cleaning every few months and replacement every 3–5 years. It’s easier on skin and eyes, but not maintenance-free.
