No. 8GB is still plenty for browser tabs and Word docs unless you’re running heavy Electron apps like Slack or Teams alongside them. Most of the time you won’t even hit 6GB. Future-proofing is a weak argument — by the time 8GB feels slow, you’ll want a new computer anyway.
