Do glass mousepads wear down mouse feet faster?
Yes, micro-etched glass surfaces are noticeably more abrasive than cloth pads, so your mouse feet will wear down quicker — expect to replace them every few months with heavy use. Glass is harder than plastic, acting like fine sandpaper on PTFE. To minimize wear, use pure PTFE feet (like Corepad, Tiger Ice, or stock high-end mouse feet) and avoid ceramic or glass feet. You can’t avoid the wear, but sticking with pure PTFE and replacing feet when you feel drag keeps the speed and glide worth it.
