DDR4 vs DDR5: Stick with DDR4 unless you're building fresh

For gaming and daily use, the performance difference is small — 5-10% at best — and you won’t notice it. Upgrading from DDR4 means a costly platform swap (new CPU, motherboard, RAM). If you’re on a solid DDR4 system, spend on a better GPU or SSD instead. Only go DDR5 if building from scratch for future-proofing.
