DDR3 RAM upgrade vs saving for a newer PC: Skip the RAM, save for a DDR4 machine

Spending $20 on DDR3 for an old OptiPlex 7010 isn’t worth it—the CPU and SATA storage are bigger bottlenecks. That money is better put toward a used Dell with DDR4 and a faster processor, which won’t feel like a time capsule in 2025. Only upgrade if the RAM is free or nearly free.
