Certified refurbished vs "refurbished": Warranty makes the difference

Certified refurbished from iRobot or Shark includes a warranty — the manufacturer inspected and fixed it. “Refurbished” is unregulated; some units are just wiped-down returns sold as-is. Without a warranty, refurbished is just used.
