Can I use ECC RAM in an Intel NUC?

ECC RAM won’t work in most Intel NUCs. Unless you have a rare, expensive Xeon model, the memory controller in standard Core i3/i5/i7 chips ignores ECC entirely. You can physically plug in ECC SODIMMs, but the ECC bits do nothing, so you’re paying extra for zero error correction. For a home server, regular RAM is fine.
