Can I use a cooler to cool down a hot cast iron pan?

No. Coolers are designed to keep things cold, not handle direct heat. The interior plastic can warp or melt, and the sudden temperature difference can crack the pan from thermal shock. Trapped steam will also cause rust. Let the pan cool on a trivet or cold burner instead.
