Can I run a salt water chlorine generator in cold water?

No. Most manufacturers say the water needs to be at least 50–60°F (10–15°C). Running it colder risks damaging the cell, getting zero chlorine output, or building up hard-to-clean scale. If your pool or spa is under 50°F, turn the SWG off and shock manually instead.
