No — extension cords should not go in curbside recycling because the copper inside is valuable but the plastic sheath and plugs tangle up recycling machinery. Instead, take them to an e-waste drop-off, electronics recycling event, or a scrap metal yard where you might get paid by the pound for the copper. Donating a working cord is also a good option.
