Are the butterflies at the Niagara Butterfly Conservatory real or animatronic?

Completely real, living butterflies — the conservatory runs a breeding program and rotates them through regularly. They live out their full lifespan in the greenhouse, from a few weeks to a few months depending on species. No animatronics here.
