Are LED extension cord indicators actually useful or just a gimmick?

They’re genuinely useful and not a gimmick. The LED tells you if power is reaching the cord, which helps when you trip a breaker or work in a dim basement. It draws negligible power and lasts as long as the cord. For an extra dollar or two, the convenience is real.
