5 Things to Know About the M75q Gen 2's M.2 Slot
The single M.2 2280 slot only accepts NVMe SSDs. It uses PCIe 3.0 x4, so any standard NVMe drive will work.
SATA M.2 drives are not compatible. The slot lacks SATA support, so don’t bother trying to install one.
The slot is limited to PCIe 3.0 speeds. You won’t get the full speed of a PCIe 4.0 drive, but a 3.0 drive is fine.
Only 2280 form factor drives fit. Shorter or longer M.2 drives won’t mount properly.
There is only one M.2 slot. You cannot add a second internal SSD via M.2, so choose your drive capacity carefully.
