The two M.2 slots are for SSD caching only, not for expanding storage. They speed up access to frequently used data but do not add capacity to your storage pool.

The DS920+ has four SATA bays for main storage. Both 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch drives work in these bays, giving you flexibility.
