5 Things to Know About Soldered RAM in Dell XPS 13 Laptops
The Dell XPS 13 9370 and 9380 have soldered RAM that cannot be upgraded or replaced. If you bought an 8GB model, you are stuck with 8GB permanently.
Dell started using completely soldered RAM with the XPS 13 9370 in 2018 and continued through the 9380, 9300, 9310, and later models. There is no upgrade path for any of these.
Some very early XPS 13 models like the 9343 or 9350 had one replaceable slot and one soldered stick, but those are years older and slower. They are not an option for upgrading a 9370.
Your only real option to get 16GB is to sell your current XPS 13 and buy a used or new model that came with 16GB from the factory. No hack or modification will change this.
If you want a laptop with replaceable RAM, look at the XPS 15 (some configurations have socketed RAM), a ThinkPad, or a Framework laptop. Accept that your current XPS 13 is not upgradeable and move on.
