The ideal pH range for a saltwater pool is 7.4 to 7.6, exactly the same as a freshwater chlorine pool.

Saltwater pools naturally drift upward in pH over time because the salt cell generates chlorine and raises pH.

Below 7.4, the water becomes corrosive and can cause eye irritation and equipment damage.

Above 7.6, chlorine becomes less effective and you risk scaling on the salt cell.

Test weekly and add muriatic acid when pH creeps above 7.6. If it holds steady at 7.5, leave it alone.
