Robot vacuums use lasers or cameras to map each floor during their first cleaning trip. The first run is intentionally slow to build an accurate map.

The vacuum saves each floor’s map separately. It automatically loads the correct map when you move it to a different level.

After the first mapping run, every subsequent cleaning is faster. The vacuum knows exactly where it is and doesn’t need to re-explore.

Maps are stored in the vacuum’s memory. You don’t need to manually switch between floors or maps.
