5 Things to Know About Nils Lofgren and the E Street Band

Nils Lofgren joined the E Street Band in 1984 as a touring guitarist. He has remained a consistent member ever since, contributing to live performances and studio recordings.

Lofgren was already an established solo artist before joining the band. His solo career includes acclaimed albums like “Cry Tough” and “Nils Lofgren.”

He replaced Steven Van Zandt, who left the E Street Band in 1984. Lofgren brought a different guitar style, known for his energetic stage presence and slide guitar work.

Lofgren has played on several Bruce Springsteen albums. These include “Born in the U.S.A.,” “Tunnel of Love,” and “The Rising.”

He is also a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Lofgren was inducted as part of the E Street Band in 2014.
