Two-part epoxy is the easiest and most durable fix for a cracked cooler lid. Silicone caulk or plastic welding can work, but epoxy is the best choice for most people.

A cooler lid sees constant stress from opening, closing, and being sat on. The crack will keep growing unless you bond it properly with epoxy, which fills gaps and hardens into a stiff patch that handles temperature changes and rough use.

Clean the crack with soap and water, then wipe with rubbing alcohol. Roughen the surface around the crack with sandpaper so the epoxy sticks.

Mix the epoxy, press it into the crack with a toothpick, spread a thin layer over the top, and clamp it with heavy books or a strap. Let it cure for 24 hours.

Do not use superglue, hot glue, or duct tape—they won’t handle the flex or cold. Epoxy costs about eight dollars and takes ten minutes of work.
