5 Signs Your Pool Pump Motor Is Dying

Grinding or screeching noises That is the bearings failing. Replace them early to avoid a full motor replacement.

Humming without water movement A hum but no pump action means the start capacitor is bad or the motor is seized. Check the capacitor first.

Breaker trips on startup If the breaker trips every time the pump kicks on, the motor is drawing too much current from internal damage. This usually requires a new motor.

Steady water leak around the shaft seal A little drip is normal, but a steady stream means the seal is gone and water is entering the motor windings. That kills the motor fast.
