5 Reasons Your Pool Is Foaming and How to Fix It
Too much organic matter Lotions, oils, sweat, and other gunk build up and cause foam. Normal pool water does not foam like a bubble bath.
Low chlorine levels Low sanitizer lets algae and bacteria thrive. Shock the pool hard to kill them off.
Low calcium hardness Soft water gets sudsy. Add calcium increaser to fix it.
High pH High pH makes foam worse. Bring it down with muriatic acid.
High phosphates or total dissolved solids Use a phosphate remover, but if TDS is very high, partially drain and refill the pool. Do not use anti-foam products—they only mask the problem.
