5 Reasons 32GB RAM Is Overkill for a Budget Gaming Build

16GB is the sweet spot for a budget gaming rig with an i5-10400 and GTX 1660. Most games, including demanding ones like Cyberpunk or Call of Duty, rarely use more than 12-14GB.

The extra 16GB sits unused unless you are running a dozen Chrome tabs, Discord, OBS, and a virtual machine simultaneously. For pure gaming, it provides no real benefit.

That CPU and GPU combo is balanced for 1080p gaming at medium-high settings. The GTX 1660 will bottleneck performance long before RAM becomes an issue.
