5 Fixes for a Flashing Red Light on a Shark IQ

Clean the brush roll Hair, string, or a sock wrapped around the brush roll is the most common cause. Flip the robot over, remove the brush roll by pressing the side tab, and clear all debris.

Check the dustbin and filter A full bin or one not seated properly triggers the Shark IQ light. Empty the bin, snap it back in until it clicks, and tap the filter clean or rinse it (dry completely before reinserting).

Inspect the side brush and wheels Debris caught in the side brush or wheels can stall the motor. Remove any tangled material from both.

Wipe the bin sensors Dirty sensors inside the bin area can cause false jam alerts. Wipe them with a dry cloth.

Perform a hard reset Hold the clean button for 10 seconds until the light turns off, then power it back on. If the light persists, the battery or charging contacts may be faulty—contact support.
