Close the door The simplest method. If the vacuum has mapping and room selection, you can also just tell it to clean one room from the app.

Use digital no-go zones After a mapping run, label each room in the app and set up no-go zones for rooms you want blocked. This works on most modern vacuums like Roomba, Roborock, and Dreame.

Use a physical barrier If your vacuum lacks mapping features, use a piece of cardboard or a doorstop. This is the only option for older models like the Roomba 600 series.

Upgrade to a mapped vacuum If you clean per room more than once a week, a mapped vacuum is worth the upgrade. It eliminates the need for physical barriers entirely.
