4 Things to Know About the ASUS PRIME B760M-A’s PCIe Slots
The primary x16 slot runs at PCIe 4.0 x16 directly from the CPU. This is the same as the B660 generation, so no upgrade to Gen 5 here.
The second x16 slot also runs at PCIe 4.0, but at x4 through the chipset. This is the main improvement over the B660 version, which only offered Gen 3 on the second slot.
There is one PCIe 3.0 x1 slot for smaller expansion cards. It’s a standard slot for things like Wi-Fi or sound cards.
The LGA 1700 socket is unchanged from the B660 generation. If you’re upgrading from a B660 board, the PCIe layout is nearly identical except for the second slot’s Gen 4 bump.
