To calculate your dose, multiply your pool volume in gallons by the desired ppm increase, then divide by 10,000, then divide by your chlorine strength as a decimal. For example, a 20,000-gallon pool needing a 2 ppm rise needs two quarts of 10% chlorine.

Adjust volume if using a different chlorine strength. 12.5% chlorine is about 25% stronger than 10%, so use about 25% less liquid for the same effect.
