4 Things to Know About Cleaning Robot Vacuum Cliff Sensors

Cliff sensors are optical sensors that get confused by dust and hair. A little debris makes them think there is a drop-off where there is none.

Use compressed air or a dry microfiber cloth to clean them. Blow or wipe gently across the sensor openings on the bottom edge.

Never use water, alcohol, or any liquid. Liquid can mess with the optics or seep inside the sensor.

If cleaning does not fix the problem, the sensor may be physically blocked or failing. But nine times out of ten, a quick dusting solves it.
