4 Steps to Fix a Chainsaw That Won't Oil
Clean the oil port The most common cause is a clogged oil port packed with sawdust and pitch. Use a wire or compressed air to clear it.
Bleed air from the tank Air in the oil line can stop flow. Fill the tank, let it sit, then run the saw at idle for a few seconds.
Use the right bar oil Thicker oil than recommended turns to molasses in cold weather. Check your manual and switch to a thinner grade if needed.
Check the pump last Only suspect a worn or broken pump after ruling out the easy fixes above. A pump rebuild is rarely necessary.
