4 Signs Your Pool Skimmer Is Leaking

Air bubbles streaming from return jets This is the most common sign. A leaking skimmer pulls in air, which shows up as bubbles in the water coming back into the pool.

Unexplained water loss or wet ground If water level drops faster than evaporation can explain, or you find a soft, wet spot near the skimmer, suspect a leak.

Pump struggles to prime or keeps losing prime A skimmer leak lets air into the suction line, making it hard for the pump to maintain prime.

Cracks or failed gaskets The skimmer body can crack from ground movement or freeze damage. The gasket where the pipe connects can also fail. Older pools may develop hairline cracks that only leak when the pump runs.
