4 Reasons The Modern Lovers' Debut Album Was Delayed Four Years
Two record labels shelved the band Both Warner Bros. and A&M Records passed on releasing the album after initial recording sessions.
The band broke up in early 1974 The Modern Lovers disbanded before their debut album could see a proper release.
Beserkley Records rescued the tapes Matthew Kaufman of Beserkley Records acquired the old recordings and assembled the album from them.
The album finally came out in 1976 Kaufman released the completed album four years after the band’s breakup, using the original session tapes.
