The DS224+ has 2GB of DDR4 RAM soldered directly to the motherboard with no expansion slot. You cannot add or replace the memory after purchase.

What you buy is what you get — there is no way to upgrade the RAM later. This is a permanent limitation of the hardware.

If you need more than 2GB of RAM for your workload, choose a different NAS model. The DS224+ is not suitable for memory-intensive tasks.
