3 Things to Know About Enabling ECC RAM on the Asus Pro WS X570-Ace
ECC is disabled by default You must manually enable ECC in the BIOS. Most consumer boards that support ECC keep it off out of the box, including this “Pro” model.
The setting is buried in the BIOS Boot into the BIOS and navigate to Advanced → AMD CBS → UMC Common Options → ECC Configuration. Set ECC Mode to Enabled, then save and reboot.
Only unbuffered ECC works This board supports only unbuffered ECC UDIMMs, not registered or load-reduced modules. Check that your RAM kit is labeled “ECC UDIMM” or “ECC unbuffered” before buying. Non-ECC sticks will ignore the setting.
