3 Things to Check When a Robot Vacuum Keeps Bumping Into Things
Clean the bumper sensors Dust on the IR or LIDAR sensors causes incorrect distance readings. Wipe the round or rectangular windows on the front and sides with a dry microfiber cloth.
Clean the cliff sensors and wheels Dirty cliff sensors on the bottom can mess with navigation. Also check the wheels and side brush for hair tangles that affect momentum.
Charge or replace the battery A dying battery can cause erratic behavior as the robot loses power mid-mission. If cleaning doesn’t help, try a fresh fully charged battery before buying a replacement.
