3 Steps to Start a Gas Chainsaw Without Flooding It
- Set the choke fully on and pull the cord until the engine coughs or fires once, usually after 2–3 pulls.
- Immediately turn the choke off, then pull again. The saw should start within 2 pulls.
- Do not touch the throttle during cold start. Most saws only need the choke and a few pulls. If it doesn’t fire, check the fuel mix or spark plug.
